Dr. Mark L. Smith attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency training in plastic surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. Dr. Smith completed two fellowships: one in Microsurgery at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and a second fellowship in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Smith is widely regarded as an expert in complex microsurgical reconstruction and lymphatic surgery. He has published extensively on these topics and is an invited lecturer nationally and internationally. Dr. Smith is Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and serves as Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, Director of Plastic Surgery at Continuum Cancer Centers of New York and Director of the Friedman Center for Lymphedema Research and Treatment. Dr. Smith is a co-founder of the American Society for Lymphatic Surgery (ASLS).
